Tulsa is a city made for touring, whether by foot for a few hours during the afternoon or by automobile for a day trip around town. Residents here cherish the city's history as one of the biggest oil-boom towns and its streets are lined with preserved buildings and landmarks from the last century.

Gilcrease Museum
Downtown contains the Boston Avenue United Methodist Church and the First Presbyterian Church, both exemplify beautiful architectural styles. The admission-free Gilcrease Museum holds over 10,000 works of art. Nearby, dine on traditional Italian at Pomodori's. The Philbrook Museum of Art is housed in what was once a mansion, and contains many interesting temporary exhibitions. Be sure to explore the Sunbelt Railroad Museum, which is not far away.

River Parks

You'll find everything from painting to sculpture on display. Indulge in some expertly-cooked steak at Jamil's Steakhouse, which has been serving Tulsa for over 50 years.

Expo Square
There are many things to do at Expo Square. Families will love the Big Splash Water Park The Tulsa Garden Center is located nearby, for those that don't want to get wet. Dine on some authentic Mexican fare at Casa Bonita. Expo Square is also the location of the annual Tulsa State Fair which takes place in September.

Oral Roberts University

Mohawk Park
Mohawk Park is a sprawling preserve that holds the 70-acre Tulsa Zoo and Living Museum as well as many other attractions. The Tulsa Air and Space Museum can also be found nearby, and children will love the Ida The Ida Dennie Willis Museum, with its interesting doll and toy exhibits. Once an art gallery, the Gallery Bistro now serves cuisine from around the world.

As evidenced by these examples, Tulsa has numerous avenues to explore. You can walk it, bike it, drive it or have a tour company chauffeur you—the only bad choice is choosing not to get out and see the city!
